Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Holy Week is upon us and much of our academics will be centered around events moving toward Easter Sunday. If your schedule allows, please join us for Mass on Wednesday morning and the Living Stations of the Cross at 2:00.

Religion: we will continue with rituals as we retell the  stories of salvation. Readings from our Children’s Bible and text focus on -Washing of the Feet, the Agony in the Garden, Jesus Death and Jesus raised to New Life.

ELA: reading in leveled texts and about Holy Week. Blending and segmenting  CVC words, short vowel /o/ and with focus letter /Z/. We will work with rhyme and rhythm poems.  In our spring journals – sentences with action words, nouns, and sight words.

EM: last week measurement tools were explored, this week measurement of small amounts of time such as minutes and seconds. Tools used: analog clock,  class timers, stop watch, and sand timers. Skip counting by 2’s and dividing groups of objects in half gives us a beginning look at fractions. Also a review plane and solid shapes.

Science: the properties and use of magnets

No library this week- as Thursday is a noon dismissal.
