Dear Families,

Welcome to 5th grade!  This week is our first full week of school.  We have a busy week ahead of us.  This Wednesday is Back to School night at 6:30.  I hope to see all of you there.  PE instruction begins this Thursday for 5th grade.  In 5th grade we have PE once a week on Thursday.  Please make sure your child is in full PE uniform on Thursday.  This Friday is the PTC Back to School Potluck starting at 5:00.  Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will begin unit 1 with a review of rectangular arrays and the use of multiplication number models.  We will also review the meaning of factors and products.

Vocabulary: Unit 1

Grammar: Unit 1,  We will be reviewing kinds of sentences, complete subjects and predicates and simple subjects and predicates.

Religion:  This week we are focusing on the different parts of the bible and how to look up passages.

Social Studies: Our focus this week will be the Native Americans of the North West.

Science:  This week we will focus on cells being the basic building blocks of all living things.
