There is a definite air of excitement in the fourth grade this week…almost Halloween!

  • Remember, tattoos will be applied on Friday morning: $1 per tattoo, only 2 to be applied and the rest to be sent home in an envelope.  Students may bring in their money any day.  It is a free free dress day as well!
  • Please remember to save your extra Halloween candy and send it to school; it is part of our donation every year to the Adopt-a-Family program.

For homework this week, we will be completing Reading Logs using the new form, and students should complete ixL Math skills C 4, 5 and 6.  Both of these assignments are due next Monday.

We continue our personal narratives in Writer’s Workshop.  Many of us are actually writing scenes to be included in our stories!

In Vocabulary we begin our two-week study of Unit 6 words.

Today we started our study of Spelling Unit 8.  Students should have all of the book pages for unit 8 completed by Thursday, as preparation for the test on Friday.

In Grammar we will be correcting our work on unit two and will have a test on Thursday.

We will have finished our work on unit two in Math tomorrow, so the test will be on Wednesday. Students should have journal pages 51 and 52 done by Tuesday (most finished this morning).

In Religion we continue our discussion of the Ten Commandments, which is chapter 8.

In Social Studies we are studying the Early Californians, which is chapter two.

In Science we continue reading about interactions and adaptations of living things.

In Reading groups, we continue discussions and activities related to our books.

Have a great week, and a fun and safe Halloween!

Mrs. Dwyer
