As we prepare for the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend and the upcoming Christmas season, I remind you of our parish Food Drive (grocery bags went home today), and of our upcoming Teddy Bear Day, to be held on Tuesday, December 2nd.  This should be a good time to find stuffed animals on sale!

Work for the week: The ixL Math skills, carried over from last week and due this Wednesday are: D3, D4, E1 and E2.

No reading logs this week.

This week we continue editing and writing final drafts of our personal narratives in Writer’s Workshop.  So many great stories to read!

In Spelling we are studying Unit 10 words and will have a test on this unit on Tuesday.  Students are writing sentences with the 20 words, and these are due on Wednesday.

We continue working on Unit 3 in Math; this week we are working on a World Tour activity, learning about the country of Egypt and how to calculate elapsed time.

In Religion today we did a short Angelus prayer service.  The rest of the week we will focus upon the idea of thankfulness.

We will have a chapter 2 test in Social Studies on Wednesday.  Students have mini-flash cards from which to study the vocabulary that will be on the test.

Student notes on the seven early California tribes are due on Wednesday.

In Reading groups, we continue discussions and activities related to our books.

I am so grateful for all of you and your continued support.  May God bless you and your families.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Mrs. Dwyer
