Dear Parents,     November 23, 2014

This week is a short week in first grade! Take a look at what we will be doing these next few days…

Language Arts: We will be using the strategies we have learned in Language Arts so far and apply it through poetry, writing, and reading. We will have a theme of Thanksgiving and a focus on life for Native Americans and Pilgrims.

Spelling: This week, we will review those clusters!

Math: We are wrapping up Unit 4: Measurement and Basic Facts. This week we will be focusing on fact power and making ten.

Religion: We will be attending a presentation on Monday, given by our 8th graders. In addition we will spend what little time we have reflecting on all we are thankful for in our lives.

Science: We will continue with Chapter 3: How Living Things Meet Their Needs. We will discuss how animals find shelter.

Social Studies: We will continue practicing our Readers Theatre Thanksgiving Play! We will perform on this Wednesday November 26 at 11:15am in the classroom. Our play is rather short and we will start on time, so please do try to be on time if you can attend! We hope to see you there!
