Dear Kindergarten Families,

October begins a reading incentive program called Book-it, sponsored by Pizza Hut.  Hopefully all have received the registration code to start this program.  Please download the app. “Pizza Hut Book It” Follow directions adding last name and code.  The goal is 20 minutes per day 5 days a week. I will check progress on line via the Book-it program. This is a fun way for your child to be accountable for their reading time. I have set the goal for 100 minutes per week  to earn a pizza certificate.

** If you choose not to use  this program, or cannot get the free app, please download and print the reading log. Your child’s reading log will be due at the end of October . It is probably best to keep this log in the blue folder HW until the end of October. 100 minutes per week is required to earn a pizza certificate.

Book-It Reading Log

This week started the second section of Everyday Math.  link to EM

I recommend parents to look into this site to see math terms used in our daily work. Notice in your child’s homework folder the username and password taped on the inside cover. This week we covered Section 2, Activity 1-4. You will see a tab  ‘Home Connections’ and ‘Games and Practice’.  This is a choice to view our learning, no required work needed to send back to school. Your family may enjoy playing the game we played in class, “Spin a Number” (2.4).
