Dear Kindergarten Families,

Thanks to all parents who were able to come and help during Primary Centers, and to those who prepared the cutouts for last Friday. We appreciate your help!

This week will be eventful:  Starting with the 100th day of school on Wednesday. It is amazing  we are already past the half-way mark! Reminds me how blessed I am to teach your children.

FREE DRESS ON WEDNESDAY!  Please send in a $1.00 + all monies go to the Make -a- Wish project.

Thursday – school assembly at 11:00.

Friday is Parent’s Day and the beginning of Catholic School’s Week! Kinders love for their parents to come to Mass with us and visit our classroom. If you cannot get time off to attend, please think about sending relative or a close friend for your child. It is really important for your child to have an adult come see them in class. Friday is a noon dismissal.

OPEN HOUSE is the coming Sunday at 12:00-2:00 – please come see all the rooms in our school.

Our Academic week:

Christian faith and practice shows us how to live and love as we continue with the parable of the Good Shepherd. This chapter teaches us the concern and constant love of Jesus.

ELA- a review of letters /p/,/g/, and /f/. Daily we blend and segment words in preparation to be good readers. Sight word review and practice continues as we read in groups. Our reading strategy response is to classify and categorize. Noting the beginning,  middle, and how stories end helps us with comprehension and retelling what we learned.

EM- our math this week finds us making shapes with string and using the geo boards to make shapes. We will also continue to write numbers as we roll dice. The subtraction symbol will be introduced in games and movement with objects.

Science – A look at the season of winter, weather conditions here and across the world. We will continue to learn what animals do in the winter.

Social studies – a review of MLK’s message of peace.

Enjoy your week- any questions? Please send an email or find me after school.

Blessings,

Mrs. Carol Brown
