Dear Families,

In the fifth grade class we have a change jar where we are collecting change for Blessingsinabackpack.org.  This is an organization that provides food for needy children.  Our goal in our classroom is to raise $80.00 by change alone.  I am hoping to demonstrate that small change can make a huge difference in a child’s life.   $80.00 will feed a child on the weekend for a 38-week school year.

There will be no P.E. on Thursday.  Please have your child wear their regular school uniform.  Friday is a full day of school.

Religion:  Stations of the Cross will be on Wednesday at 2pm.  Please join us if your schedule allows.  We will also continue our discussion of  the 7 Sacraments.

Math:  We will be  discussing the meaning and uses of percents and introducing using a calculator to convert decimals to percents. The assignment for IXl math is  L.4, Convert between improper fractions and mixed numbers.  3 ACC assignments are due by Friday.

Grammar: Unit 4.  We will be reviewing adjectives and comparing with adjectives.

Vocabulary:  Unit 9

Science:  We will be analyzing the chemical changes that involve making and breaking chemical bonds.

Social Studies: We will analyze the success of the Committees of Correspondence in fostering cooperation. We will have our next states test on Friday.

Thank you

Ms. Carney
