Dear Families,

Family envelopes and progress reports go home this Tuesday.  Please sign and return both to school.  Friday is a full day of school.  Please have your child bring extra water bottles to school.  Most students finish their water before lunch.

Math:  We will review the use of models to solv e number stories.  I will also introduce vocabulary associated with chance events.  IXL sections this week are B10, estimate sums and differences of whole numbers and B11, estimate sums and differences of whole numbers: word problems.

Social Studies:  We will be having our states test on Wednesday and our chapter 3 test on Friday. We will explain how Vespucci came to the conclusion that the lands Columbus explored could not be the Indies.

Vocabulary:  Unit 3

Grammar:  Unit 1.  Our focus this week will be simple subjects and predicates.  We will also learn about imperative sentences.

Science:  We will wrap up chapter 2 and have our test next Tuesday.

Religion: Chapter 5, The Eucharist Is the Center of Christian Life.
