We continue to hope for cooler weather, but the warmer-than-usual weather continues again this week, so please send plenty of water with your child.  Work packets will go home tomorrow, and next Tuesday we will send home Progress Reports!

What we are working on this week:

Religion: We begin our study of Unit Two: God strengthens us to be holy.  The rest of the Unit One materials were sent home in homework packets last week.  There are many good family materials in that packet!

Math: Students should complete ixL Math skills J6, J7 and M1 by next Monday.  In class we will be working on partial-sums and column addition, and some graphing.

Spelling: This week we will complete the review unit, unit 6.  There will not be any test this week.

Grammar: We will be discussing fragments and run-on sentences, and will begin our review of Unit One.  The test will be next week.

Writing Workshop: We are developing story arcs, preparing for the writing of our realistic fiction selections.

Vocabulary: We continue our study of Unit 3 words; the test will be on Friday.

Reading: Fluency homework #5 should be completed by next Monday.  Students should answer the seven questions and also write a short summary.   Reading Logs will be due next Monday as well.  You can access the form here.  reading log #3 We continue reading our literature selections in groups.

Social Studies: We continue our study of the four regions of CA. We will have a quiz on this issue of Studies Weekly on Friday.  I will send home a review/study sheet tomorrow.

Science: We continue our study of the components of various ecosystems.
