Dearest Third Grade Families,

This week we’ll be studying the following:

Math: Can you believe how far we’ve come?!! Just think, we started the year with subtraction and now, this week, we will be working on double and triple digit multiplication using both the partial-products algorithm and the lattice method!

Please continue to practice your multiplication and division facts. There will be no IXL math homework this week. Instead, please study your math facts.

Reading & Writing: The class will continue to read and explore leveled fiction and non-fiction texts in small reading groups.

There will be no reading log this week, either. However, students are always welcome to enjoy a good book!

English: The class will be working on Lessons #43 (Abbreviations) and #47 (Quotations), both from Unit 6.

Spelling: Click here to download this week’s spelling words and pattern/principle. Don’t forget that the words for every unit are also available on www.spellingcity.com. Here you can find fun games and an interactive online practice test.

Vocabulary: This week we finish Unit 18. Our last vocabulary quiz will be this Friday. As a reminder, all words as well as activities and a practice quiz can be found at the Vocabulary Workshop website.

Science: We will continue with Chapter 3: Organisms of Long Ago.

Social Studies: The class will wrap up our study of resources in California.

Religion: We will continue the Family Life series Unit 1: Family.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Espinosa
