The final week of school has arrived!  As we look back at all we have accomplished this school year and look forward to a well-deserved summer break, we will wrap up our work in each subject area.

Spelling, Grammar and Math journals were sent home on Friday.

Each reading group will finish their assigned literature selection by Wednesday afternoon.  If you do not want to keep the books we have read this year, I would be happy to have them in the classroom for future students to use.

Everyone will finish final drafts of their persuasive essays; these will be kept at school as part of your child’s writing portfolio.

Each child is making a poster depicting the 8 Beatitudes; we should be done with these by Wednesday at dismissal.

We will finish work on the end of year Math assessments.

We will have a test on Units 17 and 18 in Vocabulary tomorrow.  The book pages should be done.

We concluded our study of California history today by writing about California after statehood, using the notes we had taken in class.  If your child didn’t finish in class they should be finishing at home.

I will send home a final packet of graded work on Thursday.

General items of interest:

Students will be wearing uniforms to school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  Thursday is a half-day, and students may come to school in free dress.  Lunch will be provided.  Friday is a 10 a.m. dismissal.

Thursday is the last day of daycare.

Please check at home for any textbooks your child may have brought home for studying (Science and Social Studies) and return these to school before Friday.

Thanking you for your ongoing support, and may all of us have a wonderful summer vacation!

Mrs. Dwyer
